GemTalk celebrates five-year anniversary with continued growth
Beaverton, OR June 29, 2018
GemTalk Systems is pleased to observe its 36th year of continuous operations and its 5th year as an independent company.
In May 2013, President and CEO Dan Ware acquired the assets of VWware’s GemStone division, forming GemTalk Systems LLC. Most significantly, the entire GemStone engineering team, which includes the original developers of the GemStone software, came to the newly formed company.
Our core customers, in industries as diverse as banking, shipping, government, public utilities, and facilities engineering, continue to appreciate the power and flexibility of GemStone server software. GemTalk has entered into closer collaborations with several customers, developing software to meet the latest technological challenges and providing expert staff augmentation. “Since acquiring GemTalk in 2013, we have grown the core Smalltalk business in four ways: with the addition of new customers, internal expansion with existing customers, our value added resellers network, and through customer mergers and acquisitions.” said Dan Ware. “The future looks very promising.”
GemTalk Systems is a platinum sponsor for the European Smalltalk Users Group conference, which is in Sardinia this year, and a sponsor of Smalltalk (FAST) Conferences in South America. GemTalk Engineers continue to be leaders in the Smalltalk community, both at conferences and in the Smalltalk open-source community.
“GemTalk’s core values of software excellence and commitment to the success of our customers remains strong, and this commitment and focus has resulted in consistent growth and strong financial results.” Mr. Ware continued, “We look forward to many successful years to come, as we continue to reinforce strong working partnerships with our customers.”
