On Linux, gdb 9.x or later recommended

When debugging, or using pstack or kill -USR1 to get stacks from a GemStone process, it is recommended to use gdb x9.x or later.

While gdb 8.x may work, there are cases in which gbd 8.x does not have sufficiently robust support for multithreaded processes, and depending on the process state, may SEGV.
