In version 3.3.5, an internal change was made in how GemStone’s pstack utility scripts are invoked when the command line is processed, to avoid specific conditions of possible premature exit when used from a non-Gem processes. This change interacted with the scripts themselves, such that stack traces are not generated when a process crashes.
Since stack traces are critical for crash diagnosis, GemTalk recommends avoiding 3.3.5, and upgrading to 3.3.6 instead.
Versions 3.3.4 and earlier are not affected.
