Extent growth during multithreaded scan can cause SEGV

If extents growth occurs during a multithreaded scan operation, there is a risk of SEGV in the process running the scan.

Workaround

Growing extents on demand is not an efficient way to handle repository space; production systems in particular should pregrow extents and ensure sufficient repository space is available.
