SPC Monitor startup failures on ftok( )
On AIX, startstone will occasionally fail due to a problem with the startup
of the shrpcmonitor process. The SHRPCMON log will contain the following
error message:
GemStone could not retrieve the segment key using ftok(). path = /opt/gemstone/locks/<lockname>
prodid = 0, error = .
[SpcMon trace]: ... cache creation failed ...
Workaround
A subsequent startstone will usually work.
