NetLDI service port number range
IANA standard for port numbers specifies that all ports < 49152
should not be used without registration. That leaves a range
of 49152 <= port <= 65535 for uses such as NetLDIs.
GemStone documentation, and the installer for Windows, use default
NetLDI port numbers that are not in this range. This primarily
only has caused problems on some Linux distributions that enforce
the standard.

Workaround
Ensure that your machines use NetLDI ports in the appropriate range.
