"Error 997: Overlapped I/O operation is in progress."

On Windows 2000, when stopping a stone or netldi using the Services
control panel, an error dialog can result:

"Could not stop the <name> service on Local Computer.
Error 997: Overlapped I/O operation is in progress."

The service has, in fact, been stopped, and we have seen no ill
effects other than the error dialog itself.

Workaround

To avoid the error dialog, you can stop a netldi or stone from the
command line, using the netldi or stone command.
