A dying gem can cause a socket read error
On rare occasions, if a gem has died and GBS has not noted this through normal communications, GBS might raise an error while attempting to prepare the socket for reading.
The error may look like,
GBS Error - WSAEventSelect failed with code -1, 10038
Workaround
Logout the GBS session and login again.
